Increasing profit by a few hundred percent, saving billions of dollars in technology costs, running complex data systems in real time, transforming appropriate business models, improving operational efficiency, personalizing customer experience on large-scale digital platforms at speed were the benefits of digital transformation shared by Dr. Phuong Tram, former CIO of DuPont – the USD85 billion company and now FPT Corporation’s Chief Adviser in Digital Transformation at a seminar on February 20 with the participation of more than 30 senior corporate leaders from different sectors.
“Digital transformation”, “business model breakthrough” and “digital business” not only are topics discussed at global economic forums, but also have attracted large tech firms to build platforms such as Google, AWS and Apple. According to an IDG report last year on multinational corporations and billion-dollar businesses and organizations, 90% of them had planned, developed and deployed digital transformation. 32% of CIOs and IT managers said digital transformation had helped their businesses grow strongly and brought about large profits. CIOs of major corporations in the world selected digital transformation as one of the top three issues that enterprises needed to pay much attention to in the era of a technological boom.
Mr. Phuong Tram led and implemented DuPont’s digital transformation programs. With a different approach, DuPont’s digital transformation programs created tremendous efficiency, such as saving USD1.6 billion in information technology costs, adding billions of benefits, reducing order processing time by 90%; promote the development of new management tools for leading technology partners namely Microsoft, SAP, AT&T; making DuPont one of the outstanding digital transformation successes in the world.
