Mr. Phan Thanh Son has more than 25 years experience in ICT industry in various sectors including Public Sector, Telco, FSI, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Education, Military, Real Estate/ Hospitality, Transportation.
Most recently, Son was Chief Business Development Officer of FPT Information System Corporation (FIS). He has presented a broad and comprehensive knowledge of all matters related to the business of FIS and other FPT divisions with an eye towards identifying new sales prospects and driving business growth and requirements for product development that will be coordinated with product, solution, service, technology and R&D functions.
Back in time, Son was General Director cum Partner Director of Cisco Vietnam. During his 15 years in Cisco he was widely recognized by Vietnam customers, partners, and the public. Son often speaks at public forums and events on future technology trends, IoE/IoT, Digital Transformation, Smart Cities and Industry 4.0.
With experience in Cisco in various roles, his main responsibility was to develop business/ sales with Cisco partners and promote Cisco’s architectures, solutions, technologies for Next Generation IT in Vietnam to customers. Beginning in 2014, he got the assignment to be GD for Cisco Vietnam. Son represented Cisco Vietnam as Cisco VN CTO/ GD to participate in Vietnam associations such as VAIP, CXO Club, HCA, VNISA, VINASA, CMSO. He worked closely with government and NGO organizations such as MIC, MoF, MoC, MoET, UNESCO, USTDA, WEF to explore and accelerate the strategic partnerships between Cisco/ its partners and these organization for national/ industry transformational initiatives.
Son holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from HCMC Polytechnic and studied Communications at Vietnam Academy of Military Technology. He successfully completed the 10 month Leadership Excellence and Accelerated Development program by Harvard Business Publishing under Harvard Business School.
